Rooms & Suites
Relais La Suvera has 13 suites and 19 rooms all furnished with antiques and historical pieces belonging to the families of the owners Marquis Ricci and his wife Princess Eleonora Massimo, a rare collection made available to guests just as it would be in a private home. Each suite has its own inventory which guests may consult should they feel inclined to satisfy their curiosity and know more of the furnishings and furniture surrounding them.
In all suites and rooms: individually controlled air conditioning, satellite television, mini bar, telephone, safe; in the bathrooms Tuscan herbalist products with olive oil as their base.

Fox Suite – in the nineteenth century an English lady called Rosalie Eustace married Marquis Pietro Ricci. Among the furnishings of her suite is a curious embroidered panel of one of her relations who while hunting came off worse than the fox.
Maria Gabriella di Savoia Suite – Maria Gabriella of Savoy is an ancestor of the family who, despite having an arranged marriage, fell deeply in love with her husband. Sumptuous bed hangings, superb examples of 18th century Palace furnishings and a bathroom fit for a king with a great Jacuzzi bath, sofas and plasma flat screen TV.
Maria Antoinette Suite – Maria Antoinette of France, unfortunate Queen, comes to life in the portrait painted by a gentlemen of Court, set in an atmosphere reminiscent of the glorious history of France.
Suite Duca di Genova – This suite is dedicated to the Dukes of Genoa, Ferdinando of Savoy, brother of the Italian KingVictor Emanuel, and Tommaso the current Marquise RicciOs grandfather. Glimpses of palace life, bed drapes reminiscent of an ancient field tent, family furniture and portraits.

Amenities
The Oliviera Restaurant – The chef recommends exquisite dishes typical of Tuscan and Italian cuisine, prepared with great attention to detail, ingredients and the marriage of flavours. Accompaniment to such dishes is to be found in a wide choice of Italian wines expertly selected by our maitre, as well as the wines from the La Suvera estate whose vines are cultivated organically. In the evening dinner is served both in the restaurant and on the terrace. Smoking is permitted only on the restaurant terrace.
The Bar dei Limoni – Under the shade of the lindens the terrace of the Bar dei Limoni offers light lunches just a moment from the pool and in full view of the lemon trees. In the evening this is an evocative, welcoming place for a pre-dinner drink or a meal for those who prefer more informal dining.
Swimming pool and Wellness Center – The open air pool is heated, the temperature of the water kept at a constant 28° to 30°C; it has a special purification system and hydromassage in one corner. Our Wellness Center is a place with a truly unique atmosphere thank to its location in the medieval part of the villa. Guests may use the hydromassage bath which has been made from a medieval stone cistern, the water being treated for perfect hygiene and heated to 38°C. The Center is completed by a steam bath, a small fitness area and a relaxation area where our organic herbal teas are served. Various types of massages are available (Swedish massage, aromatherapy massage, reflexology massage) as are various beauty treatments all carried out with rigorously natural products.

Boutique – Our boutique stocks La Suvera wines, a small production from organic vines grown on the La Suvera estate, limoncello homemade by the lady of the house, the book entitles “Stories of the Earldom of La Suvera” for those who would like to learn of the stories and characters linked to the house and its owners, and other products and goods that have been carefully selected for our guests.

The Museum
The Ricci family has created the “Cardinal Giovanni Ricci Cultural Association”, which is recognized by the patronage of UNESCO – National Italian Commission. The purpose of the Association is to bring to life the historical and cultural heritage that defines the touristic activity of Relais La Suvera. On the first floor of the Papal Villa there are the Pope’s Hall, the Hall with the historic Ricci Paracciani archive, the Marchesa Campana Hall and the Library, which form a museum comprised of an interesting collection of furnishings, paintings and documents of particular significance from the historical patrimony of the Ricci and Massimo families. The Cultural Association has published the book “Stories of The Earldom of La Suvera” for those guests of the Relais who can’t resist the curiosity to learn something more about the house.

Events
Relais La Suvera is the ideal setting for weddings and other exclusive events. The church dedicated to Saint Carlo Borromeo with its sixteenth century façade and its seventeenth century interior is an integral part of the La Suvera estate and is still in use today. The historical rooms on the first floor of the Papal Villa will accommodate up to 70 people, while cocktails and aperitifs can be organized in the garden. We do our utmost to blend gastronomic delight, discreet and attentive service, flower arrangements, music and whatever else the bride and groom may desire into a perfect once in a lifetime experience.

Surroundings
Relais La Suvera lies in the heart of the Siennese Chianti Hills. It is built on a wooded hill and dominates the valley and vineyards below. The surroundings area is well known for its numerous places of great historical and artistic interest as well as for the fine wines and cuisine.
Sienna – Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral and Baptistery, Pinacoteca or Art Gallery, Palazzo Pubblico with the famous frescoes by Simone Martini, Santa Maria della Scala.
San Gimignano – Medieval city famous for its towers and the surroundings landscape.
Volterra – Superb example of architecture of the fifteenth century and birthplace of Rosso Fiorentino, also well known for the production of objects in alabaster.
Monteriggioni – Fortified town mentioned by Dante in the “Divine Comedy” : “per che come sulla cerchia tonda Monteriggion di torri si corona…” (“as on the round hill Monteriggioni is crowned by towers”.n.d.t)
San Galgano – Beautiful Cistercian abbey and medieval chapel with a mysterious sword in the stone.
